TISAX certification underlines automotive competence of iTSM Group

The consulting firm iTSM Group has received certification according to TISAX, a standard for information security developed by the automotive industry. The certification was obtained after comprehensive audits by operational services GmbH & Co. KG and is valid for three years. Since TISAX is recognized throughout the industry, iTSM can work with all OEMs and suppliers in the automotive industry on this basis. 

TISAX was strongly influenced by the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA) with the aim of establishing uniform standards for information security throughout the entire industry and thus replacing manufacturer-specific certifications, which would require enormous effort on the part of suppliers, integrators and consultants. A further objective was to intensify the exchange of information between all participants in order to achieve a higher overall level of security. Thus TISAX enables participants not only to have their own information security assessed on the basis of harmonized criteria, but also to obtain information about the information security of other companies. 

TISAX is based on the globally recognized ISO/IEC 27001 standard for information security and includes specific extensions and modifications for the automotive industry. These relate above all to data protection and the integration of third parties such as consultants or service partners, but - next to pure IT - also to prototype protection. The carrier and governance organization of TISAX is the ENX Association, which also accredits the certification service providers. 

Certification according to TISAX applies to the parent company of the iTSM Group, iTSM Consulting GmbH. However, the subsidiaries and their customers also benefit from the comprehensive automotive expertise within the group. Even before the TISAX certification, iTSM was very active in the German automotive industry as an individually certified consultant. 

"The TISAX certification underlines our competence and many years of expertise in the automotive sector," comments Torben Hardt, Head of Governance, Risk and Compliance Advisory of the iTSM Group. "Today, it is also a compelling necessity for further growth in this segment, as almost all OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers, as well as increasingly Tier 2 suppliers, now require such certification. On the other hand, this necessity is also a great opportunity for our further development in this segment, as the certificate is recognized by all market participants".
