IT Operations Management (ITOM) should be seen as a sub-area of the more comprehensive IT Service Management (ITSM). While ITSM covers the management of the entire service lifecycle, ITOM focusses specifically on operational IT operations - i.e. the day-to-day management and stability of IT services.
